Tacoma Rainiers @ Las Vegas 51s, 10:05pm EST

TBD vs. Chris Schwinden (3-5, 5.72 ERA)

PCL League Scoreboard

Schwinden’s last start ended in a no-decision for the right-hander against Fresno on June 4th. He went 5.2 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, no walks, and two strikeouts. It was the first time in his 12 starts this year Schwinden didn’t walk a batter during his time on the mound. The two punch outs were the least he’s tallied in a game since May 9th against Round Rock. He returns home to Cashman Field, but has struggled pitching at night. Schwinden is 3-4 with a 5.62 ERA in 29.2 innings (six starts) with the lights on. Opponents are hitting at a .328 clip against him at night, compared to a .270 mark during the day.

Erik Goeddel (5-2, 4.40 ERA) vs. Mikey O’Brien (4-0, 3.71 ERA)

EAS League Scoreboard

Goeddel turned in his best start of the season on June 4th against Trenton. The righty tossed seven shutout innings, allowing two hits on one walk, and four strikeouts. It was the fourth straight decision he’s appeared on the winning side, and it was the first time this season he didn’t allow a run during his appearance. It was also only the third time in 2013 he walked only one batter, as well. Tonight will be his 12th start of 2013, and it will be his 11th appearance at night. So far, he’s 5-1 with a 4.42 ERA, 48 strikeouts, and 20 walks in 55 innings pitched with the lights on.

Noah Syndergaard (2-3, 2.81 ERA) vs. Perci Garner (5-0, 2.78 ERA)

FSL League Scoreboard

Thanks to Mother Nature, Syndergaard takes the mound tonight after a week since his last appearance on June 3rd. Getting bumped back a couple times in the rotation landed him in Clearwater, taking on the Threshers in the opening game of their series. The right-hander took his third loss of the season against Lakeland, throwing five innings and allowing two runs on six hits, no walks, and five strikeouts. I would assume Noah is looking forward to taking the mound on the road, as he’s performed much better away from Tradition Field this season. As the visiting pitcher, Syndergaard is 1-1 with a 1.79 ERA, 43 strikeouts and 12 walks in 40.1 innings pitched (seven starts). That’s compared to a 5.19 ERA, 16 strikeouts, and three walks in 17.1 innings pitched (four starts) at home.

TBD vs. Gabriel Ynoa (7-2, 2.87 ERA

SAL League Scoreboard

Ynoa takes the hill tonight with hopes of winning his seventh straight decision. The right-hander has been enjoying a solid first half of 2013, and hasn’t lost a decision since April 18th. His most recent start came on June 2nd against Kannapolis. Ynoa dominated in a complete game victory, allowing one run on five hits, no walks, and four strikeouts. In 62.2 innings pitched this season, Gabriel has recorded 54 strikeouts compared to nine walks.
