After the trade deadline, the New York Mets changed the trajectory of their franchise. It brought exciting new prospects, and with that great performances. Here are the top performances among all Mets minor leaguers in the month of August:

Hitter of the Month: Jett Williams, SS/CF

August Stats: (Brooklyn) .301/.458/.548, 8 2B, 5 HR, 15 RBI, 10 SB, CS

At some point, a serious discussion needs to be had about whether Jett Williams needs to be ranked significantly better on all prospect rankings. He keeps getting better and better.

Each month, Williams has accumulated double digit walks with him walking 26 times in August. That’s all the more impressive when you consider he struck out 22 times.

Williams walking and getting on base isn’t news. What stood out in August and the second half has been hod power surge.

Williams hit five homers in the month nearly doubling his season total. His OPS for the month was 1.007. It was another big step forward for Williams as the 19 year old continues his very impressive first full season as a professional.

With the month he had, and his season as a whole, he was rewarded with a promotion to Double-A Binghamton.

Honorable Mention: Carlos Cortes (Syracuse) had a 1.033 OPS. Newly acquired Drew Gilbert posted a .934 OPS. Jeremy Rodriguez (DSL), acquired at the trade deadline, posted a 1.274 OPS.

Starting Pitcher of the Month: Joander Suarez, RHP

August Stats: (Brooklyn/Binghamton) 3-1, 2.73 ERA, 0.835 WHIP, 1.4 BB/9, 11.6 K/9

Joander Suarez recently made news by pitching a no-hitter for Binghamton. Looking at his August starts, that was just more of the same for him.

In Suarez’s Double-A debut, he threw six hitless innings leading to Eastern League Pitcher of the Week honors. At the moment, he’s thrown 13 consecutive hitless innings to begin his stint in Double-A.

His personal hitless streak is 18 innings and counting.

Earlier in the month, Suarez set a personal high with 11 strikeouts in a game. That was part of him having a season best 8.50 K/BB for the month.

When you’re pitching like he did this month, people will colloquially say, “you’re unhittable.” In August, that was actually true for Suarez.

Honorable Mention: Felipe De La Cruz (Brooklyn) led all Mets minor leaguers with strikeouts. Mike Vasil (Syracuse) had a 2.79 ERA.

Reliever of the Month: Tyler Thomas

August Stats (Binghamton/Syracuse): 0-0, 1.42 ERA, 3 SV, 1.105 WHIP, 3.6 BB/9, 9.9 K/9

The Mets grabbed Tyler Thomas out of the Independent Leagues in June, and they have been rewarded with a reliever who has been posting some dominant numbers during his brief Mets minor league tenure.

He started the month allowing one earned in 7 2/3 innings for Binghamton. He struck out 12 and would earn two saves. After bouncing back-and-forth over his next two appearances, he would settle in with Syracuse where he would continue his dominant performance.

Part of his impressive month is his versatility. He has been used for under an inning to get his team out of a jam. He has also been called upon to pitch 2+ innings when the team needs some length.

Another important note with Thomas is even though he is a left-handed pitcher, he has been tougher on right-handed batters. With the rules requiring relievers to face more than one batter, it makes pitchers like Thomas all the more important.

Honorable Mention: Daison Acosta (Binghamton) struck out 16 over 14 2/3 innings and had a 2.45 ERA. Ramon Henriquez (St. Lucie) posted the lowest ERA (1.26) out of all the Mets minor league relievers.
