The New York Mets farm system looks a lot different now than it did before the trade deadline. With the continued progress of their top prospects and the addition of new prospects, the Mets farm is in the best shape its been in quite some time. Some of the players who particularly stood out over the last month are the following:

Hitter of the Month: Jeffry Rosa, OF

July Stats: (DSL) .342/.418/.798, 9 2B, 9 HR, 25 RBI

Rosa, 18, was a one man wrecking crew in July. He collected 18 extra base hits, and he ended the month on a nine game hitting streak. More impressively, that was a nine game extra base hit streak. With stats like that, it is no wonder he was named an All-Star.

In the All-Star Game, Rosa was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Certainly, he has been the Mets outstanding player at this level, and he has arguably been the best performing prospect at this level.

So far, we have gotten a very good glimpse as to why the Mets gave him a $100,000 signing bonus in international free agency in January 2022. He’s showing big time power, and with this level of production, he could be a fast riser in the Mets farm system.

Honorable Mentions: Jett Williams (St. Lucie) had a .963 OPS. Nick Morabito (FCL) hit .447/.509/.660. Jacob Reimer (St. Lucie) walked 14 times against 13 strikeouts while posting a .917 OPS.

Staring Pitcher of the Month: Blade Tidwell, RHP

July Stats: (Brooklyn) 3-0, 1.96 ERA, 1.130 WHIP, 10.2 K/9

Tidwell, 22, continued his dominant two month stretch in Brooklyn which led to his promotion to Double-A Binghamton at the end of the month. Dating back to May 17, he had a 12 start streak where he allowed two or fewer earned runs.

His best start of the month was his July 6 start against the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Over six innings, he allowed just two earned while striking out 11 batters. That is all the more impressive when that lineup featured four of the Washington Nationals top 30 prospects in Brady House (2), Jeremy De La Rosa (8), Jared McKenzie (25), and Darren Baker (29).

That is just how well Tidwell is progressing. He is out there besting the top prospects that other teams are putting onto the field.

Honorable Mentions: Robert Colina (Brooklyn) was 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA. Dominic Hamel (Binghamton) struck out 30 over 21 1/3 innings. Cameron Foster (Brooklyn) struck out 37 over 27 innings.

Reliever of the Month: Daniel Juarez, LHP

July Stats: (Binghamton) 1-0, 2.16 ERA, 0.960 WHIP, 5.4 K/9

The left-handed Juarez has shown himself to be effective against right and left-handed batters. With his slider and change complementing his fastball, he keeps the ball in the ballpark, and he gets batters out. It also helps when he can field his position.

Juarez made six relief appearances in July with all but one of them being scoreless. He pitched at least one inning in all of those appearances, and he went over one inning three times. His high was 2 1/3 innings on July 27 against the Reading Fightin Phils.

Last year, Juarez was a popular pick to have a breakout season. This year, he has continued pitching well, and he is showing he has the makings to be a Major League reliever.

Honorable Mention: William Woods (Binghamton) led all Mets minor leaguers with five saves while posting a 1.00 ERA. Paul Gervase (Brooklyn) struck out 17 over nine innings. Dedniel Núñez (Binghamton) had a 1.00 ERA striking out 12 over nine innings.
