Garrison Bryant (Jacob Resnick/Mets Minors)

Charleston Riverdogs 3, Columbia Fireflies 2 (47-69) Box Score

The Fireflies were 2-for-8 with RISP and stranded six runners on base. Those numbers hurt their chances in a game where they were unable to make a 1-0 lead entering the ninth inning stick. Even more troublesome was Shervyen Newton having to pinch run for Vientos who left the game with an apparent leg injury.

Acosta an intriguing arm who throws 92-94 with a nice cutter and slider making him a guy to watch closely. Winans had an opportunity to work around a lead-off double in the ninth, but his wild pitch allowed the tying run to score. In the 10th, he once again surrendered the lead, and he would take the loss on a Josh Stowers walk-off single.

Garcia was partially let down by his defense with a Brett Baty fourth inning throwing error leading to two unearned runs. Peden had a very tough appearance giving up three homers with two of them coming in a five run sixth for Danville.

GCL Nationals 7, GCL Mets 3 (21-20) Box Score
