Top prospects OF Drew Gilbert and 3B Jacob Reimer jumped to Low-A St. Lucie as they continue their rehab processes, playing in their respective positions for six innings each. Coincidentally, both had injured their hamstring earlier in the year and are making their returns at the same time.
Triple-A
Syracuse Mets (57-34) 7, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders (48-42) 4
- RF Carlos Cortes: 2-for-3, 2 R, HR (8), 2B, 3 RBI (.847 OPS)
- 3B Luke Ritter: 2-for-4, 2 RBI (.835 OPS)
- SS Pablo Reyes: 1-for-4, R, 2 RBI, SB (7) (.903 OPS)
- 2B Brett Baty: 0-for-2, 2 BB, K (.892 OPS)
Propelled by a big game from Carlos Cortes, the Syracuse Mets beat SWB 7-4 on Saturday. A four-run five-inning put the Mets 5-4 but allowed the game-tying run to score in the top of the eighth. That’s when Cortes stepped up and launched his eighth long ball of the year, breaking the tie and ultimately giving Syracuse their fourth straight win.

- RHP Blade Tidwell (5.35 ERA) 3 2/3 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 2 HR (72 pitches/40 strikes)
- RHP Justin Jarvis (1.53 ERA) 2 2/3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K
- LHP Josh Walker (3.08 ERA) 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
- RHP Wilkin Ramos (5.00 ERA) 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K
- LHP Matt Gage (0.00 ERA) 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
Tidwell did not have his best stuff Saturday and has gotten roughed up since his promotion to Triple-A in May. While his conventional ERA is at a shaky 5.35, his 7.77 FIP is even worse. Since coming to Syracuse, his K/9 has dropped significantly, while BB/9 and HR/9 have skyrocketed. Utility man Justin Jarvis was much better for the Mets on Saturday–providing solid middle relief after starting his last outing on July 3rd.
In his second appearance since being traded from the Dodgers organization, Matt Gage inherited a first and third jam in the ninth inning and picked up the save without conceding a run. The Johnstown, New York native has an accumulative 3.97 ERA on the season, though he has not allowed a run while with Syracuse.
DOUBLE-A
Binghamton Rumble Ponies (45-38) 4, New Hampshire Fisher Cats (33-50) 0
- SS Jeremiah Jackson 2-for-4, R, HR (12), 3 RBI, 2 K (.631 OPS)
- CF Jaylen Palmer 1-for-2, 2 BB, 2 SB (.814 OPS)
- 2B Wyatt Young 1-for-3, 2B, K (.706 OPS)
- C Kevin Parada 1-for-3, R, BB, 2 K (.699 OPS)
Binghamton beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 4-0 for their eighth win in a row. The Ponies are now 8-0 on the road in the second half of the season, primarily due to their high-powered offense, however, it was their pitching that dominated Saturday’s matchup. Behind Luis Moreno‘s seven scoreless innings, the Rumble Ponies offense put up four runs via a Jeremiah Jackson two-run homer and a New Hampshire throwing error.

- RHP Luis Moreno (3.59 ERA) 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K (94 pitches/ 57 strikes)
- RHP Cam Robinson (3.05 ERA) 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
Luis Moreno has posted two elite performances to start July– combining to throw 13 innings, no runs, nine hits, five walks, and 11 strikeouts. His outing on Saturday was his best of the year and has been crucial to the success of the Binghamton staff as they continue to rack up wins.
HIGH-A
Brooklyn Cyclones (39-47) 2, Wilmington Blue Rocks (40-45) 3
- CF Omar De Los Santos 1-for-3, R, HR (2), 2 RBI, 2 K (.650 OPS)
- SS Wilfredo Lara 2-for-4 (.691 OPS)
- RF Karell Paz 2-for-3, 2 SB (8, 9) (.616 OPS)
The Cyclones struggled offensively again in their 3-2 loss to the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Brooklyn collected only five hits, and their only runs came on a second-inning home run from Omar De Los Santos, who is not known for his power. Along with De Los Santos and Paz, who collected two hits and two stolen bases, Wilfredo Lara was a bright spot for the Cyclones. With his two hits on Saturday, he has 11 in 11 games with a .871.

- RHP Luis Moreno (0.00 ERA) 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K
It was Moreno’s debut in the Mets organization after being released from the Tigres de Quintana Roo of the Mexican Baseball League.
LOW-A
St. Lucie Mets (29-57) 0, Lakeland Flying Tigers (54-31) 5
- 3B Jacob Reimer 1-for-1, 2 BB (2.000 OPS)
- CF Drew Gilbert 0-for-2 (.656 OPS for the season)
- 2B Boston Baro 1-for-4 (.726 OPS)
St. Lucie’s stacked lineup did not lead them to a victory on Saturday. The Mets added a handful of rehabbing prospects – namely Drew Gilbert, Jacob Reimer, and D’Andre Smith – but were shut and only tallied three hits.
Gilbert and Reimer played six innings at center field and third base, respectively.

- RHP Jeremy Peguero (2.82 ERA) 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
Along with his seven strikeouts, Diaz picked up 15 whiffs on the night with his changeup earning five alone while only being thrown 14 times.
The DSL Mets Blue team topped the DSL Mets Orange squad , 10-4.
