LAS VEGAS 5, TACOMA 4

The 51’s won a tight one against the Rainiers in ten innings on Tuesday. Logan Verrett had a solid outing throwing 7.1 innings, and striking out four while giving up seven hits and only two runs. Allan Dykstra went two for four with a double, RBI and one run scored. After Jeff Walters gave up a run in the top of the tenth, the 51’s bounced back with a two run push in the bottom of the inning. After a Josh Satin single, Allan Dykstra hit a RBI double. Kirk Nieuwenhuis came in to pinch-run and Zach Lutz drove him in with a walk-off single. On a side note, Omar Quintanilla had a rough day, going 0-5 with two strikeouts.

ALTOONA 10, BINGHAMTON 3

Hansel Robles had a tough outing on Tuesday only lasting 2.2 innings, giving up six hits, seven earned runs and three home runs. With the loss, Robles moves to 1-2 on the season with a 5.40 ERA. After scoring the first run in the second, the B-Mets were shutdown until scoring once more in the sixth and again in the seventh. Dustin Lawley had a nice outing, going two for four with a double and home run. Travis Taijeron also racked up two hits, one of which was a double.

TAMPA 7, ST. LUCIE 2

The St. Lucie Mets kept it close until the top of the ninth when closer Beck Wheeler gave up six runs in only 0.2 innings. The St. Luce Mets scored in the first when a wild pitch brought in T.J. Rivera. Tampa fired back, scoring once in the third, but St. Lucie pushed back when a throwing error on a pickoff attempt brought in Dilson Herrera. Steven Matz had a great day pitching 5.0 innings, striking out six and giving up just one run. But it all fell apart in the ninth when the Mets closers came in. Jairo Perez went 3-4 with a double, and Dilson Herrera went two for five with a run scored.

SAVANNAH 8, CHARLESTON 4

After a tough first inning in which Ricky Knapp gave up four runs, the young right hander composed himself and put together a solid outing. Knapp threw 5.2 innings, giving up four runs on eight hits and striking out five. Mazzilli went one for three with a double, two walks and two runs scored.
