On a day when the weather prevented the games in Binghamton (makeup game scheduled for July) and Vegas (playing two on a Sunday)  from being played. The Southeast was unaffected and the full season A ball teams were in full swing. It was a banner day for the Columbia Fireflies that you can read about here, as they won their first game in style, on a combined no-hitter.

The Fireflies may have gotten the headlines, but the St. Lucie Mets had great come from behind 7-5 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads to improve to 2-1 on the season. Multiple multi-hit games all around, as Michael Katz, John Mora, and Tomas Nido  going a combined 7-14, continued their hot start to the season. Champ Stuart also got in on the action, getting on base 3 times, including a leadoff triple, a sacrifice bunt, and his second stolen base in as many games.

Corey Oswalt got the start and was not effective, lasting only 2 ⅔ innings with a final line of five runs on six hits and three walks. He was replaced by Ben Griset, from there the bullpen shut down the Hammerheads allowing only one hit over the last six and ⅓ innings. After Griset struck out the side in the 5th, Corey Taylor took the mound in the 6th got the win and Jimmy Duff closed the game out for a two inning save. Taylor, 2015 7th round pick, was making his St. Lucie debut after pitching for Brooklyn in his debut and had two scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

Wuilmer Becerra was removed from the game to start the 4th inning, nothing to indicate injury. From what we have heard it was a defensive substitution with Patrick Biondi taking over. The series closes out Sunday at 1 PM with Ricky Knapp on the mound for his first start of the season. Box Score
