Triple-A
Syracuse Mets (1-2) 2, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (2-2) 6
The Mets offense could not keep up Ismael Munguia and Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre, as Syracuse dropped the first game of the series 6-2. The Mets took a 2-1 lead in the third inning after Jakson Reetz and Donovan Walton drove in runs, but SWB rallied to tie the game in the top of the fourth and never looked back. Powered by a three-hit performance by 26-year-old Ismael Munguia, the RailRiders have won two in a row to get back to .500. Munguia has opened the season with hits in all four games, going 8-for-17 with two doubles for the RailRiders.
- SS Donovan Walton: 1-for-4, RBI, 2 K
- 1B Joey Meneses: 1-for-4, 2B
- C Jakson Reetz C: 1-4, 2B, RBI, BB
Walton and Reetz provided the only runs for the Mets, the latter hitting his second extra-base hit of the season. Reetz spend the 2024 season in the San Francisco Giants organization, splitting time in the big leagues and Triple-A Sacramento.

Waddell was making his Mets organizational debut and did not fare well against the RailRiders lineup. He allowed nine baserunners through his three and two-thirds innings pitched while giving up two earned runs. Mets big league club regular Sean Reid-Foley made a successful season debut, striking out two SWB batters in a clean seventh inning.
Syracuse is back in action on Wednesday against the RailRiders at 4:05 p.m. ET. Mets Top 30 prospect Dom Hamel will make his first start of the season.
