Syracuse Mets – Luis Guillorme

Season Stats: .313/.418/.434, 10 2B, 4 HR, 23 RBI, 4 SB, 3 CS
Week Stats: .429/.500/.762, 2B, 2 HR, 6 RBI, CS

Guillorme had an amazing week where he not only doubled he season home run total and got on base in half of his plate appearances, but he also had a game where he was 4-for-4 with three runs scored with a homer and two RBI. Incredibly, one of those homers was an opposite field shot. In addition to hitting, Guillorme was up to his old tricks in the field:

At this point, considering where the Mets are in the season and with Adeiny Hechavarria‘s production has dropped off, you have to wonder how much longer the Mets keep Guillorme in Syracuse.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies – Eric Hanhold

Season Stats: 3-3, 4.89 ERA, 1.629 WHIP, 3.7 BB/9, 6.8 K/9
Week Stats: 4.0 IP, H, 0 R, 0 ER, BB, 6 K

Hanhold was considered one of the Mets most promising relief prospects with his fastball having been regarded as the best in the system. That led to his getting a very brief cup of coffee at the end of last season. Unfortuantely, Hanhold has not been much of a factor as he has struggled much of this year.

However, this past week, he gave us a glimpse into the dominating reliever he could be. Of the 13 batters he faced, he struck out six. When a batter was able to put a ball in play, it was on the ground half the time. When he’s on, this is the type of dominating reliever Hanhold can be. If he keeps this up, he could find himself back in Queens helping a beleaguered Mets bullpen.

St Lucie Mets – Kyle Wilson

Season Stats: 4-7, 3.50 ERA, 1.542 WHIP, 3.8 BB/9, 5.9 K/9
Week Stats: GS, 7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

Wilson has been an intriguing pitching prospect since the Mets drafted him in the 35th round of the 2017 draft. There have been ups and downs with his recent performance against the Clearwater Threshers serving as one of the up.

Wilson would face a lineup with five of the top 20 prospects in the Phillies system as rated by MLB Pipeline: Simon Muzziotti (12), Jhailyn Ortiz (11), Nick Maton (18), Rodolfo Duran (19), and Daniel Brito (20). Against, that lineup, Wilson would allow only five hits over seven innings. He’d finish the game strong retiring 10 of the last 12 batters he faced.

This is the second time in three starts he has allowed zero earned while pitching over six innings. With a little more consistency, Wilson could repeat these performances and have a strong end to the season.

Columbia Fireflies – Hayden Senger

Season Stats: .239/.335/.384, 12 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 17 RBI
Week Stats: .417/.500/.583, 2 2B

This is the second straight week Senger has been named a player of the week, and the reason is he has started hitting for more power like he did when he was a Senior at the Miami of Ohio. During the week, he had two separate three hit games, and dating back to last week, he had a seven game hitting streak.

Overall, he had a huge June where he hit .354/.404/.646. With that month, he now looks like a much more interesting prospect than he did through the beginning of his career. Seeing his collegiate career, we know he is capable of being a slugging catcher. It will be very interesting to see if this is the start of him becoming that as a professional.

Brooklyn Cyclones – Joe Genord

Season Stats: .302/.373/.581, 3 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, SB
Week Stats: .350/.409/.700, 2B, 2 HR, 4 RBI

Genord has quickly emerged as one of the top performers from the Mets 2019 draft with how he has played with Brooklyn. He has recorded at least one hit in eight of the 12 games he has played, and he has reached safely in 11 of the 12 games. In the one game he did not reach safely, he had a sacrifice fly. One of his best games of the season was yesterday against the Lowell Spinners. In that game, he was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI.

Kingsport Mets – Scott Ota

Season/Week Stats: .258/.400/.516, 2B, 2 3B, HR, 4 RBI

Ota was the Mets 10th round draft pick, and he was one of the more interesting Senior draftees as he showed some late power in this collegiate career. So far, we have seen that power translate to the Appalachian League with him having a three game streak with an extra base hit and his slugging .516 through nine games played.

GCL Mets – Francisco Alvarez

Season/Week Stats: .400/.526/.800, 3 2B, HR, 5 RBI

The Mets GCL roster is loaded with talent. This includes the Mets top three draft picks from this year’s draft (Brett Baty, Josh Wolf, and Matt Allan). While that is an impressive group, Alvarez, a player who received the highest international free agent signing bonus in Mets history, could be the best of the group.

The 17 year old began his professional career stateside with a two double game. He has reached safely in all four games he has played, and he has an extra base hit in three of the four games he has played. In those games, he has looked every bit the slugging catcher the Mets went all out to get last year. Big things are certainly ahead of him.

DSL Mets – Carlos Dominguez

Season Stats: .300/.429/.533, 3 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 4 SB, CS
Week Stats: .333/.458/.889, 2B, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 2 SB, CS

Dominguez had a big week homering in back-to-back games. This included a 3-for-4 performance with a double, homer, and three RBI in a game against the Rockies DSL affiliate.
