Syracuse Mets – Luis Guillorme
Season Stats: .315/.418/.448, 12 2B, 5 HR, 27 RBI, 4 SB, 4 CS
Week Stats: .333/.417/.571, 2 2B, HR, 4 RBI, CS
Since being sent back down to Syracuse, Guillorme has been hitting racking up three multi-hit games over his six games played. His best game since being sent back down and quite possibly of the entire season was his July 27 game against the Toledo Mud Hens.
In that game, Guillorme was 2-for-5 with a double, homer, and three RBI. The second inning two run double gave Syracuse a lead, and his sixth inning homer expanded the lead in what would be an eventual 8-6 win. With respect to the homer, that was his fifth of the season which is a new career high. One other quick note on Guillorme is he continues to play phenomenal defense:

Binghamton Rumble Ponies – Tommy Wilson
Season Stats: 7-6, 3.46 ERA, 1.132 WHIP, 2.4 BB/9, 7.8 K/9
Week Stats: GS, 7.0 IP, 4 H, R, ER, 0 BB, 9 K
In his July 27 start against the Bowie BaySox, Wilson would set a career high with nine strikeouts, and he would tie a career best with no walks. To put how strong this performance was into perspective, Bowie has struck out as a team the second fewest times in the Eastern League, and they are first in runs scored, hits, total bases, and team batting average.
For Wilson, this has become par for the course in what has been an eye opening year. Over his last three starts, he as pitched six plus innings allowing one run or fewer on four or fewer hits. He has not walked more than one batter in a game in over five starts, and he has not walked more than two in a game in over 10 starts. This has been an impressive stretch for a Double-A pitcher who was just drafted in the 19th round last year.
St. Lucie Mets – Luc Rennie
Season Stats: 6-6, 4.32 ERA, 1.302 WHIP, 3.4 BB/9, 6.4 K/9
Week Stats: 2 GS, W, 11.1 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 10 K
In the July 23 game against the Palm Beach Cardinals, Rennie would allow just one hit over seven innings. After allowing a second inning one out double, he would go on and retire the next 10 batters and 17 of the last 19 he faced. This impressive start was one of three starts in a row where he has allowed two earned or fewer.
Columbia Fireflies – Simeon Woods Richardson
Season Stats: 3-8, 4.25 ERA, 1.213 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9, 11.1 K/9
Week Stats: GS, W, 5.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K
In what proved to be his last start as a member of the New York Mets organization, Woods Richardson had an impressive five shut out innings against the Augusta GreenJackets. It was his fourth start in a row of at least five innings, and it was his fifth start in a row allowing two earned or fewer. This start earned him a promotion to St. Lucie, but due to the Marcus Stroman trade, his next start will come in the Blue Jays organization.
Brooklyn Cyclones – Garrison Bryant
Season Stats: 2-1, 3.92 ERA, 1.008 WHIP, 2.7 BB/9, 8.7 K/9
Week Stats: GS, 7.0 IP, H, R, ER, BB, 3 K
Bryant has been getting strong and better with each start for Brooklyn this year. In each of his past two starts, he has allowed one earned over seven innings. The start this past week was more impressive because he allowed just one hit, and if not for a throwing error by catcher Ariel Yera, it would have been possible to work around a leadoff walk and allow no runs.
With his recent stretch, Bryant is working his way up the New York-Penn League leader boards with him ranking fifth in inning, ninth in strikeouts, and third in WHIP. If he continues pitching this way, we should not only see him rise in these categories but also rise in others.
Kingsport Mets – Jaylen Palmer
Season Stats: .252/.327/.427, 6 2B, 3B, 5 HR, 17 RBI, SB, 2 CS
Week Stats: .333/.368/.556, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, CS
Palmer is an 18 year old who played high school baseball just blocks away from Citi Field. When he puts together weeks like he just did, you could envision the talented shortstop moving a few blocks down and playing for his hometown team.
Palmer has had a multi-hit game in three of his last four games, and he has reached safely in four straight. Arguably, his best game was the July 25 game against the Johnson City Cardinals. In that game, he was 2-for-4 with two runs, a homer, and three RBI.
GCL Mets – Zach Ashford
Season Stats: .233/.331/.362, 10 2B, 3B, HR, 14 RBI, 4 SB, 3 CS
Week Stats: .476/.560/.667, 4 2B, 6 RBI, SB
Since being transferred to the GCL, Ashford has been raking hitting .333/.441/.491 over 17 games. He has reached safely in 12 of his last 14 games with multi-hit games in six of those games. One really positive development is he has actually drawn eight walks against two strikeouts over his past 43 plate appearances. That shows how his eye, which was one of his better traits heading into this year’s draft, has been developing.
DSL Mets – Samuel Marte
Season Stats: .221/.337/.350, 6 2B, 3 3B, 2 HR, 16 RBI, 6 SB, CS
Week Stats: .455/.600/1.000, 2 HR, 8 RBI
Marte currently has a three game hitting streak with two of those games being multi-hit games. In each of his last two tames, he has hit a homer. Over his last nine games, he has walked 11 times which striking out just four times.
