The Mets minor league affiliates pitched well this season. In terms of team ERA, Syracuse had the second best team ERA in the International League, St. Lucie had the fourth best team ERA in the Florida State League, and Brooklyn had the fourth best team ERA in the New York-Penn League. Behind these team ERAs were strong performances from the pitchers on those pitching staffs.

The breakout season amongst Mets minor league pitchers came from Bryant. Arguably, he was the best pitcher in the New York-Penn League this year leading the league in WHIP and being in the top five in wins, strikeouts, and ERA. His pitching was one of the big reasons why the Cyclones won their first ever outright New York-Penn League title.

It should be interesting to see how he follows up this campaign. It will also be interesting to see pitchers like Peterson and Kevin Smith take the next step forward in their development while Josh Wolf and Matthew Allan begin their first full seasons in the Mets organization.
