Adam Rubin of ESPN NY reports that the Mets have summoned Andrew Brown from Vegas in order to restore the bench to its customary five players.

Brown will travel to Chicago on Wednesday, but will not be activated until Thursday’s series finale with the Cubs.

Brown, who is batting .359, with 13 home runs, and 31 RBI’s,  went 2-for-2 off the bench in Tuesday’s 6-5 loss to Reno.

After making the squad out of spring training, Brown batted just .185 with a home run and five RBI’s in 27 at bats. The Mets demoted Brown to Vegas on April 21 to make room for Bobby Abreu.
