Down in St. Lucie, Trey Snyder launched his fifth home run of the season, while Randy Guzman continued his impressive first season stateside. Elian Peña had another good game in the Dominican Summer League.

Trey Snyder‘s up-and-down first professional campaign continued on Tuesday, when he pulled a first-pitch changeup for a 341-foot home run — his fifth of the season. Snyder has hovered around a .230 batting average and a .250 on-base percentage for most of the year, limiting his ability to showcase his plus contact skills and plate discipline.

While Jonah Tong and Nolan McLean have stolen the spotlight on the pitching side of the Mets’ farm system this year, Frank Ellisalt has quietly put together an elite season in both starting and relief roles. He boasts a 2.76 ERA with 49 strikeouts and 19 walks over 42.1 innings, while touching 96 mph with his fastball.
