- Brandon McIlwain DH: 2-for-4, R, 2 2B, 2 RBI, K, .286/.444/.469
Ritter got the Mets on the board right away with his two-run home run in the first inning. It was his 26th home run of the season, a total which leads the Mets minors and is also a significant increase over his previous career high of 15 home runs in a season.
Baty now has a six game hitting streak and is hitting .306/.366/.611 since his return to Syracuse.
McIlwain has as many walks as he does strikeouts (12) since his promotion to Syracuse.

- LHP Tyler Thomas (0-0, 13.50 ERA) 2.0 IP, 2 H, ER, BB, K

Reid-Foley has struck out 15 batters in 7 1/3 innings pitched so far in August, but those strikeouts have not helped prevent runs as he also has a 7.36 ERA for the month.
Double-A: Portland Sea Dogs (62-52) 2, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (57-56) 1 Box Score
- Luisangel Acuña SS: 2-for-4, .209/.303/.239
- Drew Gilbert CF: 0-for-2, 2 BB, K, .345/.413/.527
- Agustin Ruiz RF: 1-for-4, 3B, RBI, .186/.280/.373
Binghamton’s offense struggled mightily on Sunday afternoon as they recorded just six hits and scored just a single run in the game. They actually had numerous opportunities to score, despite the lack of hits, but went hitless in eleven at bats with runners in scoring position.
With six hits in his last four games, the hits have started coming a bit more for Acuña, but he still has just two extra base hits (both doubles) in the three weeks since his trade to the Mets.
Gilbert extended his on-base streak to eight games with his two-walk performance.
- RHP David Griffin (1-1, 4.26 ERA) 5.0 IP, 5 H, ER, BB, 6 K
- RHP Wilkin Ramos (1-0, 1.86 ERA) 1.0 IP, 2 BB, 2 K
- RHP Junior Santos (4-8, 6.17 ERA) 1.0 IP, K
Griffin performed well in his first start since his demotion to Binghamton, tossing five innings of one-run ball. Ramos has walked nearly a batter per inning since his promotion to Binghamton, but he has managed to allow just two earned runs in 9 2/3 innings nonetheless. Santos has performed slightly better as a reliever this season, but his 4.30 ERA out of the bullpen is still quite lackluster.
High-A: Hudson Valley Renegades (63-51) 7, Brooklyn Cyclones (57-56) 1 Box Score
- Jett Williams SS: 2-for-3, R, HR, RBI, BB, K, .311/.462/.574
- Alex Ramirez CF: 0-for-4, .235/.329/.333
- Ryan Clifford DH: 0-for-4, K, .172/.273/.328
Williams started the Cyclones off with a bang on Sunday afternoon, homering to lead off the bottom of the first inning, but that would be the extent of their offense for the remainder of the game. They would have just three singles across the following nine innings. Williams is in the middle of an impressive power surge, homering in two straight games and recording an extra base hit in six of his last seven. He is truly showing why he is one of the top prospects in the Mets system. Ramirez is hitting just .167/.267/.227 since the start of August.
- RHP Robert Colina (L, 3-4, 3.64 ERA) 2.1 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 K
- RHP Luis Montas (0-1, 5.06 ERA) 2.0 IP, H, ER, 2 BB, K
- RHP Sammy Tavarez (0-0, 18.47 ERA) 1.0 IP, K
Colina had his worst outing in a while, giving up more runs than innings pitched for the first time since May 16, and has now given up seven runs across his last two starts. Tavarez has been experiencing major struggles since his demotion to Brooklyn, but this is the first game that he has not given up a run or walked a batter since then.

- Karell Paz RF: 2-for-3, 2 R, RBI, BB, .273/.387/.390
Parada reached base three times in four plate appearances and caught seven innings in his fourth rehab game with St. Lucie. His fourth-inning single left the bat a 108.2 MPH, the hardest hit ball of the day. Lara is hitting an impressive .296/.387/.574 so far in August.
- RHP Douglas Orellana (3-4, 4.76 ERA) 3.0 IP, H, R, 2 BB, 3 K
- RHP Brawny Reyes (W, 1-0, 5.79 ERA) 2.0 IP, H, BB, 4 K
- RHP Miguel Alfonseca (0-1, 7.92 ERA) 1.0 IP
Orellana’s slider was his best pitch on Sunday, recording whiffs on half of the 12 swings against it. His fastball did not get a single whiff on 12 swings. Reyes’ slider averaged a nearly 2700 RPM spin rate in this game.
