The Mets have released infielder/outfielder Yeixon Ruiz who played for the Binghamton and St. Lucie Mets in 2015. Ruiz, 25, hit .242/.305/.297 with 11 stolen bases combined between the two teams last year. The versatile switch-hitter played second base, third base, center field and right field last season.
They have also released right-handed pitcher Luis Chirinos who they signed to a minor league deal in January.
Michael Bernal, 24, has also been released by the Mets. He played the last two seasons with the Brooklyn Cyclones. Last year, he hit .257/.333/.434 with three homeruns and 18 RBI in 152 at bats.
