Mets Select RHP Dylan Ross in Round 13, RHP Cameron Foster in Round 14

With the 389th overall pick during round 13 of the 2022 MLB Draft, the New York Mets selected right-handed pitcher Dylan Ross from the University of Georgia. He is a 6’5” junior, weighing 251 pounds. He is originally from Statesboro, GA.

During the 2022 season, Ross was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts. He was limited to just six innings after suffering a season-ending injury in March.

In his first start & his SEC debut, Ross gave up just one run on four hits, two walks, and struck out six in five innings of work.

Prior to arriving in Georgia, Ross played for Northwest Florida College. He was 6-2 in 2021with a 3.88 ERA in 12 starts. He pitched two complete games, struck out 77, and walked just 28 in 60.1 innings. He was named to the All-Panhandle Conference 2nd team.

The Mets followed round 13 with another pitcher selection in round 14. With the 419th overall pick, they selected right-handed pitcher Cameron Foster, a redshirt senior from McNeese State College (LA). He is 6’5”, 230 pounds from Houston, Texas.

During the 2022 season, Foster was 4-2, with 12 saves and an ERA of 1.86. He has versatility as a starter and reliever. He allowed 13 earned runs, walked 20, and struck out 84 in 63 innings pitched in 2022.

Foster was the 2022 Southland Conference relief of the year, had the 10th lowest ERA in the nation, and was a member of the All-Southland Conference First Team. He was also on NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award Midseason watch list and earned Southland Conference Commissioner’s academic honor roll in 2020-2021 for his grades.
