The New York Mets announced on Friday via Twitter that they have sent right-handed pitcher, Ryder Ryan to the Texas Rangers. This transaction officially completes the trade the Mets made with the Rangers in August that brought infielder Todd Frazier back to the Big Apple. Ryan on Friday was announced as the Mets’ player to be named later to complete the trade.

Ryan was traded to the Mets in 2017 from the Cleveland Indians in the Jay Bruce trade. He spent the 2019 season with Double-A Binghamton, where he was 3-1 with a 3.05 ERA and 40 strikeouts over 44.1 innings pitched with Binghamton. He was assigned to Triple-A Syracuse at the end of the 2019 season and invited to the Mets’ Spring Training in February.

At the completion of today’s trade, the 25-year old from Huntersville, NC was assigned to the Rangers’ Double-A Frisco.
