Wong, 30, was the Houston Astros 2009 24th round draft pick. Last year, Wong played in the Seattle Mariners organization where he mostly played in Double-A. Overall, he hit .239/.358/.291 with 11 doubles, a triple, three homers, and 34 RBI while appearing at all four infield positions.
This year, Wong has been playing second base and shortstop for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League. In 18 games, he is hitting .239/.337/.268 with two doubles and five RBI.
At the moment, both Martin and Wong have been assigned to Brooklyn, but it is expected both players will be assigned to Double-A Binghamton in the upcoming days.
