St. Lucie Mets catcher Nick Meyer and LHP Blake Taylor were named as All-Stars for the Florida State League All-Star Game.

Meyer, 22, was the Mets sixth round draft pick last year. He was drafted in large part due to his defensive prowess behind home plate. He has lived up to the reputation throwing out 54 percent of base stealers.

Taylor, 23, is also making his first All-Star appearance. He was moved to the bullpen this year. It has been a smooth transition for him as his six saves are tied for second in the league.

Pitchers Tony Dibrell and Tommy Wilson appear to be All-Star snubs. Both starters are in the top 10 in league ERA. In addition to being top 10 in ERA, Wilson is also ranks in the top 10 in WHIP.

The Florida State League All-Star Game is scheduled to be played on Saturday June 15 at the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, which is the Florida State League home stadium to the Cardinals’ and Marlins’ affiliates. With it also being the home stadium for the respective team’s GCL affiliates, it is the only stadium in the world which is the home park to four minor league teams.
