MLB.com today released their top ten prospect list for right-handed pitchers and #3 on their list is future Mets star, Noah Syndergaard.

In exchange for sending National League Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey to the Blue Jays in December 2012, the Mets may have gotten a pair of future All-Stars in Syndergaard and catcher Travis d’Arnaud. Few prospects can match Syndergaard’s combination of stuff and pitchability. He keeps his fastball down in the strike zone and runs it up to 98 mph, and his hard curveball and changeup have the potential to become solid or better pitches.

In an ongoing survey that is on the post asking readers who they think is baseball’s best pitching prospect, Thor is tied on the list with 15% of the votes with Mariners Taijuan Walker and Orioles Dylan Bundy.  Ironically, Walker and Bundy made the MLB.com list at #2 and #10 respectively.

Below is the grading system for MLB.com:

The Mets fans have read all winter long reports on how great Syndergaard is going to be and now for the first time this spring they will get a glimpse of the future.  With all the hype surrounding Thor, the hope is that he is able to take it all in and just do what he is capable of doing.  If he pitches the way everyone is predicting, the Mets look to have a rotation in the next few years that may mimic the Atlanta Braves of the ’90’s and we all know how well that went for that organization.
