Second live game thread, thank you to everyone that joined in last night! Looks like the only team that could face weather issues tonight is in Las Vegas.
Glad to see Becerra move up a spot but bummed to see him DH. Pregame Rojas said Biondi could be the best defensive outfielder in the Mets system.
Chris Flexen gets the first out of the night for St. Lucie on a pop up to first base!
1-2-3 first inning for Flexen who was hitting 92 MPH with his fastball and the curveball at 71 MPH.
Champ Stuart using his speed to turn a chopper into a double.
John Mora gives the St. Lucie Mets a 1-0 lead with a two-out single scoring Champ Stuart.
Guillorme, Beccera, Rosario, Urena, and Flexon…..
All guys I am excited about in PSL.
That team has a ton of talent, wish they televised games.
I expect flexin to move up the ranks this year.
First pitch of the @bmets season is a strike from Robert Gsellman.
Tons of talent on that team. Very excited for a lot of those guys
Flexen now has 3 scoreless innings with only 29 pitches thrown.
Stud
Gsellman with a 1-2-3 1st inning for Binghamton with two strikeouts.
Dominic Smith looks so lonely in that Bmets lineup. Lol. He needs Rosario to move up and give him some help.
I think McNeil and Mazzilli will have good years.
They will definitely hit. They’re not really top flight prospects like Smith though.
Guy who just makes things happen.
Happy birthday to Jeff McNeill btw
Fireflies start being delayed by a college game finishing up.
One of the most underrated prospects in the Mets system.
Really nice guy too. Humble. He appeared genuinely surprised that I knew of him
My candidate for break out this year.
He will put himself on the map just like Fulmer did last season.
You dont see that everyday.
Flexen allows a two-run triple and the St.Lucie Mets are trailing 2-1 in the 4th inning.
Definitely not but Rosario and Urena should be there this summer.
Dom Smith with a ground out back to the pitcher in his first AA at bat.
Ya I thought it was pretty weird. First pitch at 8 now.
Slumping to start the season.
Bust
Most likely. I hope Urena has a nice season. It would be nice to have a 3b prospect in the high minors in case Wright goes down.
I don’t see that as big deal because Flores can play there every day if need be.
Gsellman has five strikeouts through 3 innings.
True. Flores is a big drop off offensively though.
Nice.

He a utility guy? All over the IF?
I believe so.
Flexen with 6 solid innings of work, has allowed 3 runs and struck out 5.
Happy 24th Birthday to Jeff McNeil with a solo homerun!
Yup and has played very little outfield too.
Post updated with Las Vegas and Columbia lineups! Nimmo slides up to the two hole.
Too lazy to look at box score…did he do anything last night?
Fireflies score two runs in the first inning with RBI hits from David Thompson and JC Rodriguez.
Does Thompson breakout after a poor first year in pro baseball?
Was a terrific bat in college at Miami.
Yes, he is one of my breakout candidates, his power is real.
0-2 with a walk in three plate appearances
Still a 3B?
For now. Might get one day a week at 1B when Winningham needs a rest, but it’ll be tough for Thompson to get consistent reps there. He should slide over with time.
Gsellman with a great first start, 5.2 ip, 2 hits and 7 ks
for now but not long-term.
Where does he end up,,1b?
Yes that makes the most sense and got some reps there this spring.
Must be the hair
Looked like Dom Smith got his first AA double but he missed first base and the Fisher Cats successfully appealed.
I guess he thought you didnt need to touch all the bases in AA.
Lmao really…..
How is that scored?
A hit and a PO by the 1B?
Is his arm really that much of an issue? He can’t strengthen it?
Not a hit because he never touched first. PO by the pitcher to 1B.
Looked absolutely brutal in Brooklyn last year on multiple occasions. If definitely not a matter of strength, could be mental after his injury.
Interesting
Wuilmer Becerra’s first High-A hit is a two-run single in the 8th inning.
three scoreless innings for PJ Conlon so far in his first pro start.
Still no home runs? Another BUST by Sandy
Interesting to see the BMets using Logan Taylor in relief.
St. Lucie drops the game 5-3, Becerra with two RBI and Mora with two hits.
Glad that Wally finally moved Nimmo up in the lineup but then has to move down Cecchini after one game.
Wally being Wally
He would rather have Krauss and Taijeron get more at bats than Cecchini.
Akeel Morris trying for his first AA save with a 2-1 lead.
I can’t believe the front office lets him get away with that
He is my breakout pitcher candidate. Love his fastball and curve.
Jeff Wilpon loves him, wanted to make him manager and fire TC.
BMets win! Morris gets first AA save and the birthday boy McNeil knocks in both runs.
So Bingy wins, PSL loses…what did the fireflys do?
Losing 3-2 right now, bullpen giving it up for second straight night.
Hope this isn’t a trend. Lot of promising arms back there.
Good thing he’s not in charge. Oh wait…
Lugo getting hit hard.
Vegas down 2-0 in the 3rd inning, Lugo struggling a little in his first start of the year. Fireflies still down 4-2.
Not using his breaking ball enough I think, which is the only time he ran into trouble last year. Facing a pretty good lineup as well.
Moran is one of their top prospects right? Their 3B
Yes and Reed is one of the best power hitting prospects in the minors.
Cool and by the way Gant gave up two homers today.
David Thompson has now reached base three times after leading off the 9th with a double for Columbia.
Ya I saw, too bad. He has been a great story.
Is that Diaz kid good? Aldeymis Diaz or whatever his name is.
I like him alot, played a good SS in the AFL and can certainly hit. Think the Cards might be better off with the Tejada injury.
Great debut for Bashlor, he could be a huge wild card for the Mets if he stays healthy.
Milton Ramos knocked in the tying run for the Fireflies in the 9th. That’s his third RBI on the season.
Your breakout candidate is looking good so far
Awesome
Gavin Cecchini picks up his first AAA hit, driving in TJ Rivera with a single.
Why is Krauss batting above Cech and TJ?
Lugo got beat like a drum tonight.
