Binghamton Mets had the day off. They will begin a series today at 6:35 pm against the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
I guess Ynoa was bound to have this kind of game eventually, playing in the PCL and all. What’s really concerning for me is that Cecchini made two more errors giving him 20 for the year. Last year was bad, but he’s already almost matched last year’s total. Does anyone know what could be causing him to make so many errors?
What the hell happened to Gavin C? Can catch or throw now. Has anyone seen him play to voice there opinion on the matter? What like 4 errors in 2 nights, 20 on the season already. Is he that bad in the field, at Binghamton he looked good other then the throws.
is Tomas Nido a legit catching prospect, as in will he be able to stay behind the plate as he moves up
Yes. He is a solid defensive catcher with a strong arm. I got to see him last year and came away with the impression that at worst he was a backup back stop
Fast infield tests the middle infielders. Add in his tendency to rush throws and you get a fielder over thinking and not doing what is natural
Fast meaning no grass or hard surface. I was hoping to see him on the big club soon, but 20 errors doesnt warrant that.
Hard arid surface…
I generally don’t give errors in the minors much thought or concern. Case in point Ramos has 9 errors, Guillorme 7…but have no doubt both will be excellent defensive SS when/if they reach the majors.
In Cecchini’s case I do think there is a mental aspect that is affecting his glove work. With his arm already viewed as circumspect for the position, he got into the habit of rushing things making it worse.
#FreeTJ yes!
What a line for Ya-know … He must have pissed off Wally to keep him in there that long. Hopefully he bounces back.
