The DSL Mets squads had the day off and return to action on Monday.

Its been great seeing the stats all year offensively on Dilson, Nimmo and Cecchini but I just dont think calling them all up helps a playoff contending team.
I mean I love the idea of top prospects pulling a ‘Cubs’ and all come up firing but I wish Mets had some major league veteran options to add right now instead.
Im sure we can all agree that even in limited role Nimmo probably performs better right now at MLB level than de aza but the whole ‘player development’ argument I guess prevents him from a call up to be the 4th-5th OFer.
I’ve always heard about young players rotting on the bench, but I don’t think I’m convinced that letting a young player start out part time is a death sentence like some imply. In some ways, part time duty could be a benefit. Just calling a prospect up and immediately handing him the full time job can also be damaging.
