Is Burrecca on the DL?
Hasn’t played since June 2nd but hasn’t been placed on the DL either. Have to believe it’s his shoulder acting up.
Outside of the two shortstops in the DSL, anyone else we should be watching closely at this level?
I’ve heard Edinson Valdez is pretty good. A legit plus power prospect, don’t really have anything else on him.
Outfielder Edinson Valdez has a ton of pop, infielders David Lozano and Sheryven Newton have some upside as well.
Hey Michael (and Teddy), what are we looking at with Luis Mateo? He was a top prospect a few years ago if I remember correctly. Any chance he gets a promotion or two and any chance he makes his way even further up the ladder before we lose him?
Mateo (the B-Mets one) has flashed good stuff at times this year (fastball in 93-95, sharp breaking ball) but has been inconsistent with command. Definitely one of the more intriguing bullpen arms.
Have to think Hepple is pitching his way to Indy ball at this point.
Different Luis Mateo. The one you’re thinking of is at Binghamton.
Yup you would think so, him and Duffy who I was never particularly high on.
Guerrero and Giminez are going to be fun to follow. So far they look as good as advertised if not better. They make these DSL teams worth following.
I don’t think we can really think about the original Mateo. If he shows consistancy and finishes the year strong another team can take a flier on him.
