With Dominic Smith and Amed Rosario playing in the Futures Game, the B-Mets were short-handed and as a result, lost this one 8-4.

When given an opportunity, Philip Evans continues to perform. After struggling offensively for most of his minor league career, Evans has had a nice season at AA, batting .311 in 167 at-bats.

Jim Henderson with another rehab appearance, this time it was a scoreless performance. He was followed by Mickey Jannis, who had a decent start but his defense failed him, committing three errors leading to 4 unearned runs.

The St. Lucie Mets dropped their second game in a row and it wasn’t pretty. Clearwater threw a no-hitter with a combination of three pitchers.

It was a tough day at the office for the Mets bats, unable to muster a hit in this contest but did draw three walks.

Chris Flexen‘s win-loss record is not pretty but is not indicative of his performance this season. He’s lost a few games in which he has pitched well but his offense could not get the bats going.

The Fireflies were held scoreless in this one and could only muster five hits, losing 3-0. They lost their fourth straight against the Augusta GreenJackets (48-40).

Kaczmarski had his third straight multi-hit game, collecting two doubles in this one. Eudor Garcia had his four game hitting streak snapped. Enmanuel Zabala continues to impress with his defense in the outfield. He is easily one of the top 3 defensive outfielders in the Mets system.

Kevin Canelon had another solid performance, tossing seven innings. He is having himself a very nice season pitching to a 3.18 ERA across 97 innings.

Our own Jacob Resnick was at the Brooklyn Cyclones and has the recap here including Justin Dunn getting hsi first pro win.

GCL Mets (8-6) 10 vs. GCL Cardinals 9  BOX SCORE

The GCL Mets got the bats going in this one, scoring 10 runs on 12 hits.

The GCL Mets had an assortment of pitchers going on the afternoon and it was not a good day for the staff. They allowed nine runs on 13 hits.  Richard Reina ended up getting the victory, pitching one inning while giving one run on two hits with a strikeout and a walk.

Injury Note – Kenny Hernandez had to leave the GCL Mets game on July 3rd after awkwardly stepping on first base and then being carted off. He has not played since.
