Las Vegas 51s (43-39) 8, Tacoma 5 Box Score
After a lackluster performance last night, the 51s came out firing tonight, scoring eight runs on 12 hits. After the victory, the 51s remain 5.5 games out of first place.
- Gavin Cecchini DH: 1 for 2, 1 3B, 3 BB, .330
- Michael Conforto LF: 2 for 5, 3 RBI .276
- Travis Taijeron RF: 4 for 5, HR .312
Cecchini continues to rake at Triple-A although it is an ominous sign that Wally has him at DH. All these errors have clearly effected his fielding ability from a mental perspective.
- Gabriel Ynoa RHP: 5.1 IP, 4 ER, 4 K, (3.92)
- Paul Sewald RHP: 1.2 IP, K, BB, Win (4-2 3.89)
- Josh Edgin LHP: 1 IP, H, K (2.50)
- Chasen Bradford RHP: 1 IP, 2 K S(5) (3.92)
Ynoa continues to produce decent starts in the hitter-friendly PCL. He should be converted to the bullpen where I believe his repertoire will play better.

St. Lucie (40-37) 4, Palm Beach 2 Box Score
The win brought the St. Lucie team to an even mark of 5-5 in the second half.
- Wuilmer Becerra DH: 2 for 5 .329

Andrew Church provided another quality start although he is showing inconsistency with his command.
West Virginia 4, Columbia Fireflies (39-42) 0 Box Score
The Fireflies offense had a disappointing game at the dish getting shut-out and only collecting five hits.
- Luis Ortega 3B: 2 for 3, .248
- Dash Winningham 1B: 1 for 4 .246
With David Thompson getting the day off, the offense struggled in his absence. The Fireflies did not collect an extra base hit in this one.
- Joe Shaw RHP: 7 IP, 3 ER, 5 K, Loss (4-6, 4.72)
Shaw tossed seven innings but was tossed around a bit, giving up four runs (three earned) on nine hits.
Brooklyn Cyclones (7-10) 5, Connecticut 4 Box Score
The Cyclones ended their four game losing streak with a much needed victory by a score of 5-4. Connecticut jumped out to 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning and the Cyclones came storming back with runs in the 3rd, 5th, and 6th innings to win it.

- Ali Sanchez: 3 for 3, 2B, R, .308
- Arnaldo Berrios RF: 1 for 2, 2B, R, RBI .240
After being out since June 24th, Ali Sanchez returned to the lineup with a vengeance, going 3 for 3 with a double.
- Harol Gonzalez 4.2 IP, 4 R, 10 K (3.63)
Gonzalez didn’t have his best start but 10 strikeouts in a short start like this, will jump out to anyone. Not to mention, this was his second start in a row with 10 strikeouts.
Kingsport Mets (3-8) 11 Greeneville Astros 0 Box Score
The Kingsport bats broke out in a big way, scoring 11 runs on 14 hits.
- Jose Miguel Medina 2 for 5, HR, 3 RBI .237

The DSL Mets had the day off.

Any word on Des Lindsay? Is he hurt?
Conforto and Reyes seems ready to be comeback to big league.
Hamstring injury. Is supposed to be back sometime in July
Conforto probably won’t return until after the AS break.
Not sure about Reyes, but think you’re jumping the gun on Conforto simply because he had a nice game last night. He hasn’t really be tearing it up and appears to need a little more time in Vegas to sort things out. Even with last night’s good game, he is hitting .235/.278/.412/.690 in his last 4 games, and only .276/.344/.379/.723 overall in Vegas in 7 games. As OOPMF said below, think he’s likely to stay down in Vegas until after the AS break. Give him a few weeks to clear his head and force his way back up.
Still striking out a little too much. Twice on Saturday. Give him some time. Nimmo has filled the void nicely and unless they try and trade Grandeson (and who would take him) Conforto would be one too many left handed outfielders.
If Nimmo fades and Conforto is hitting then it would be time.
Still nursing a hamstring injury, I would expect to see him play in a couple of GCL games soon then join Brooklyn hopefully next week.
