This is a continuation from a game started on June 21st.
Rookie Ball: DSL Mets1 3 (11-14), DSL Yankees1 2 (12-13) Box Score
- David Lozano 3 for 3, BB .275/.426/.314

- Raul Beracierta CF 0 for 4, 2 K, .359/.423/.422
- Edinson Valdez RF 2 for 4, K .321/.394/.369
Beracierta’s 14-game hit streak has been snapped. Gimenez is hitless in his last two games, and did not fare well against Red Sox’s Andres Jimenez.
This ongoing Urena hot streak is awesome to see.
The Gonzalez brothers down in BK seem to have a knack for the K. Hopefully Dunn transitions seamlessly to the pen for the rest of the season.
Szapucki is too advanced for his level. He has enough fastball to blow by these hitters and should be challenged in BK IMO (I’m being selfish, I’d love to catch a game with him pitching).
Gimenez has been hitless the past two games? Traid.
Szapuki continues to amaze. He’s been putting up video game numbers. Is it possible he gets moved up?
Did someone say Traid?

Cecchini keeps raking but the errors are a problem.
Good to see Jannis finally having a good start. Still hoping for the next RA Dickey although he has had a really tough time controlling that knuckleball. Also, Szapucki is amazing. 30 Ks in 16.2 innings. Needs to be called up to Brooklyn soon, although I’m not sure the Mets will do that.
I think we could see him in Brooklyn at some point but also think the Mets will try to keep his innings low this year.
I would love to see some video of him this year. He must have great stuff if he’s striking out so many batters.
I posted a short video on twitter after his first start, search my handle and his name and you should find it.
