Nimmo hit his 11th home run of the season setting a new career high in that department and it was off a lefty. He continues to lead the PCL in hitting. All three of Conforto’s hits came off a left-handed pitch in what should be his last minor league game, hopefully ever.

• Andrew Church RHP 4 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, BB, 4 K (0-1, 6.75)

Church was promoted from Columbia before the game to take the spot of Logan Verrett but his flight was delayed and didn’t arrive until the third inning. Vegas beat writer Betsy Helfand reports that Kevin Plawecki, Michael Conforto, Gabriel Ynoa and Ty Kelly will join the Mets on Thursday.

Binghamton Mets 3 (62-72), Altoona Curve 1 (Pittsburgh) Box Score

• Phillip Evans 2B 1 for 4, BB, K .328

Oberste is an underrated corner guy, and has hit for on base and average wherever he’s been with the Mets. If he can stick at third, it would be very good for his value. Rosario is more consistent after the leg injury slowed him down, but still is striking out at a 20% pace after only 12.4% in High-A.

Roseboom has been dominant as the B-Mets closer. Nabil Crismatt is going to get a start for Binghamton later this week.

West Virginia Power 7 (Pittsburgh), Columbia Fireflies 6 (63-71) Box Score

• Patrick Mazeika C 2 for 4, 2 RBI, BB, K .297
• Dash Winningham 1B 3 for 5, 2B, 2 RBI, K .237

Winningham has been hitting for much more power in August, with four doubles and four homers. Mazeika has been scorching hot in August,

• Nicco Blank RHP 3.1 IP, 3 H, ER, 4 K 6.59 ERA

Blank fared much better than Canelon, but Tyler Bashlor (who had been sent from St. Lucie to Columbia), lost the game in the 10th.

Auburn Doubledays 5 (Washington), Brooklyn Cyclones 0 (34-36) Box Score

Paez has not fared well in his first season, but has a quick swing. Sanchez is 5 for his last 16. Cyclones bats did not wake up to salvage the season as they were eliminated from playoff contention today.

• Erik Manoah RHP 4 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 5 K 5.37 ERA

Dunn mowed down the Doubledays in his maximum three innings. However, Manoah didn’t fare as well and took the loss. Look for Manoah next year in Columbia’s rotation.

Kingsport Mets 3 (25-41), Bristol Pirates 2 Box Score

• Ricardo Cespedes CF 2 for 4 .327
• Jeremy Wolf 1B 1 for 4, HR .295

Cespedes is just killing it for K-Port right now, and it brings hope in me that he may leapfrog Brooklyn to go to Columbia. Just a hope. Wolf is a senior sign with some pop from the left field/first base role. Kingsport should keep using Walter Rasquin in the leadoff spot, who reached base twice tonight.

• Colin Holderman RHP 2 IP, 2 BB, K 3.86 ERA

Simon should be in the Brooklyn rotation next year, with some decent stuff from the left side. If you don’t recognize Holderman, there’s good reason: He’s an overslot pick who is getting some rest after starting in college a lot this year. You should see him in the Columbia rotation in 2017.

• Carlos Sanchez C 2 for 4, 3B, RBI, K .321/.379/.450
• Kenny Hernandez 3B 0 for 4, 3K .203/.262/.288
• Kenneth Bautista RF 2 for 3, 2 2B, 2 RBI .165/.240/224

Poor Hernandez, he’s had a rough year, but he’ll be 19 next year, so he has a lot of time to get right. Bautista saw my critique and responded with two doubles. Keep going, Kid.

• Garrison Bryant RHP IP, 2 H, ER, BB, K 9.72 ERA

Debora has been an arm we’ve heard about for a while, but haven’t seen much of stateside. Bryant joins the list of 2016 High School arms struggling.
