MMN Recap: Binghamton Held Scoreless, Jose Martinez Continues Rehab Assignment in Brooklyn

Starter Connor Grey gave up six runs (all of them earned) in four innings. His ERA with Binghamton is now 5.19.

Winans relieved Grey. His strikeout rate in 21 2/3 innings since being promoted to Binghamton is 27.4% and his walk rate is 7.1%.

Martinez and Luke Ritter had Brooklyn’s only two hits. Despite the lack of offense, the game was tied at two before Hudson Valley won on a walk off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the tenth.

Jose Martinez continued his rehab assignment. His lone hit was a line drive to right field that drove in Palmer with the tying run in the eighth inning.

Palmer is now 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts since being promoted to Brooklyn and 26-for-31 (83.9%) overall.

Taveras lowered his Brooklyn ERA to 2.19. After striking out 35.8% of his batters faced with St. Lucie, his strikeout rate is 31.9% in 12 1/3 innings with Brooklyn.

St. Lucie tied Tampa at three in the fourth inning. They didn’t take the lead until Jordan drew a bases loaded walk in the eighth inning.

Ramirez’ double was his twelfth of the year. It was a line drive to right field.

Ramirez also stole a base, improving to 14-for-19 (73.7%) on stolen base attempts for the year.

Kendall’s two hits were an RBI grounder to right and a line drive to center field. He’s 3-for-3 on steal attempts and has a 162 wRC+ through 30 plate appearances.

After the 20-year-old Colina gave up three runs in five innings, Nolan Clenney and Montas combined for four scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Montas’ strikeout rate is now 25.9% and his walk rate is 6.3% in 28.2 innings. He turns 21 next month.
