AAA: Buffalo Bisons (42-25) 10, Syracuse Mets (23-46) 6

Box Score

Although Syracuse managed to jump out to a 3-0 lead after two innings, it couldn’t hold on as the Mets fell to the Bisons 10-6. Veterans Mason Williams and César Puello lead the way in batting as they finished with two hits each.

Williams and Puello also finished each of their nights with a home run.

Outside of the first two innings where he excelled, starter Josh Walker had a tough night on the mound as he gave up eight runs on eight hits, earning the loss. Reliever AJ Schugel didn’t have much luck either as he allowed two runs on two hits in his two innings on the mound.

AA: Erie SeaWolves (39-31) 3, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (26-41) 1

Box Score

After a Mark Vientos solo homer in the eighth to claim the game’s first lead, the Binghamton bats could not respond to a 3-run ninth from Erie, falling 3-1. The Rumble Ponies managed to put together a rally in the bottom half of the ninth as bases were loaded for Brett Baty with two outs. But the recently-promoted third baseman struck out to end the game.

The Ponies garnered just four hits on the night with half of them coming in the final two innings.

The Binghamton pitching staff held up pretty well in Friday night’s pitcher’s duel, notably starter Adam Oller who struck out eight and allowed no hits in his 4.2 innings on the bump. Relievers Allan Winans and Andrew Edwards had nice performances too as they gave up no runs and just one hit.

However, the flood gates opened in the ninth as the SeaWolves scored three runs on four hits off of Tom Hackimer, who earned the loss.

A+: Brooklyn Cyclones (26-42) 5, Wilmington Blue Rocks (29-41) 4

Box Score

A Luis Gonzalez RBI single in the eighth was the ultimate deciding run as the Cyclones took care of business on Friday night by a score of 5-4. As a whole, the Brooklyn offense fared pretty well, capturing 11 hits against the Blue Rocks.

Brooklyn’s most productive inning came in the second as Gonzalez hit an RBI double and he later scored thanks to a throwing error by Wilmington. Despite the Cyclones’ success, No. 2 prospect Ronny Mauricio couldn’t build off of it as he went 0-for-4 in the win.

Starter JT Ginn excelled in his Brooklyn debut as he gave up just one run on five hits in 5.2 innings of work. The righty also struck out six batters and issued no walks.

The Brooklyn bullpen also found success on the mound as relievers Hunter Parsons and Evy Ruibal allowed no runs or hits in their respective outings.

A: Bradenton Marauders (43-26) 8, St. Lucie Mets (37-33) 3

Box Score

Two homers from Jose Peroza and Jose Colina was not enough on Friday night as St. Lucie fell to Bradenton 8-3. An RBI single from Tanner Murphy also scored a run across the plate for the Mets.

The Mets garnered seven hits on the night.

There wasn’t much going for St. Lucie on the mound either as they allowed 14 hits. Nine of those came from starter Franklin Parra as he gave up four runs in 4.2 innings of work.

Reliever Austin Faith seemed to be one of the bright spots on the bump for the Mets as he struck out two, gave up one hit and no runs in 1.1 innings.

Rookie: FCL Cardinals (7-8) 7, FCL Mets (10-6) 0

Box Score

The FCL Mets offense couldn’t produce on Friday afternoon as they were shutout by the FCL Cardinals 7-0. Carlos Dominguez and Yeral Martinez came up with the Mets’ only two hits on the day, both of which were doubles.

The Mets utilized eight different pitchers against the Cards as their pitching staff gave up seven runs on eight hits in the loss. Lefty Daniel Juarez had the most impressive appearance as he struck out two and allowed no hits in his lone inning on the mound.

Foreign Rookie: DSL Mets1 (6-3) 7, DSL Twins (3-6) 1

Box Score

A 4-run sixth propelled the DSL Mets1 squad to a 7-1 win over the DSL Twins. The Mets’ victory was highlighted by a 2-RBI triple by Franklin Linares in the sixth.

The DSL Mets1 pitching staff struck out 11 batters in the Monday afternoon victory. Lefty Luis Camilo earned the win as he struck out three and allowed one hit in his two innings of work.

Foreign Rookie: DSL Mets2 (4-5) 8, DSL Rangers2 (6-3) 2

Box Score

A 10-hit outing helped lift the DSL Mets2 team to an 8-2 victory over DSL Rangers2. The Mets had three different batters with multi-hit games as Joel Flores finished with three and Jefrey De Los Santos and Lewis Castillo finished with two each.

The Mets2 pitching staff struck out 12 batters with Joel Diaz accounting for half of them. Righty Kevin Ribon earned the win as he struck out three batters.
