David Thompson‘s go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning propelled Syracuse over Buffalo. Thompson also stole his fourth base of the season, bringing him to 4-for-5 total. Patrick Mazeika played first base and had another nice offensive game. His second double since being sent down to Syracuse came on a flyball to center. Khalil Lee played center field and also had a nice offensive night, getting on base twice and hitting his third Triple-A double on a line drive to left. Drew Ferguson and Cody Bohanek each stole a base.

Second baseman Orlando Calixte made a great impression in his Mets system debut with a bases clearing double in the fourth inning.

Stephen Tarpley finally had his first scoreless outing of the season. He pitched a 1-2-3 sixth inning with the game still tied at four. Yennsy Diaz only allowed one batter to reach base in two scoreless innings and Stephen Nogosek had another scoreless outing to get the save. Even though he didn’t strike anyone out on Wednesday, Nogosek’s K% currently sits at an impressive 34.0%.
