Syracuse’s offense struggled, managing only four hits and two extra base hits in their Game 1 loss to Rochester.
Jose Martinez continued his rehab assignment, going 0-for-3 with three groundouts. He also played all seven innings defensively in right field and threw a runner out at the plate who was trying to score on what would have been a sacrifice fly.
Lee pinch hit with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning and grounded into a game ending double play. It was his sixth double play of the season.
Lagrange got the start and drove in Syracuse’s only run with a fly ball double to center field in the bottom of the seventh inning. It was his twelfth double and second since being promoted to Triple-A.

The game was scoreless until the top of the fourth inning, when Worley gave up two runs and then two more in the fifth.
After Bradley Roney threw a scoreless sixth inning, Diaz came in to start the seventh and gave up a three run home run to Nationals catching prospect Keibert Ruiz. It was Ruiz’ second home run of the game.

A great start from Zack Godley and strong offensive performances from Williams, Orlando Calixte, and Cody Bohanek led Syracuse to a Game 2 win and a doubleheader split.
Lee drew a walk in the third inning, raising his Triple-A walk rate to 18.5%. He also made a great diving catch in center field.
Williams drove in Syracuse’s first two runs of the game when he hit a two run homer on a fly ball to right field.

Binghamton’s balanced offensive showing was enough to stave off several Fisher Cats comeback attempts as they won a close game in New Hampshire.
Baty’s single was a line drive to center field to lead off the third inning. He also walked and made a fielding error at third base. His Double-A numbers are now .242/.320/.402.
Vientos hit his 22nd home run on a fly ball to right field. He also had two singles. One was a groundball to center field that drove in a run and the other was a grounder to left field.
After hitting his eighth home run of the year on Tuesday, Mangum hit his ninth on Wednesday on a fly ball to right field. It came as a left-handed hitter. He also made a full-extension diving catch in the left-center gap that saved an extra base hit.
Cortes had another strong game. His 26th double of the season was a fly ball to left field that drove in two runs. He also had an RBI single on a groundball to center field.

Joe Zanghi, threw two scoreless innings in relief of Beggs, Thomas McIlraith gave up two runs in the eighth inning, and Robinson got his fourth save with a scoreless ninth.

After jumping out to an early 1-0 lead, Brooklyn ended up losing Game 1 of their doubleheader in extra innings.
Palmer hit his first home run since being promoted to Brooklyn. He also singled on a line drive to left field.
In Alvarez’ three plate appearances, he struck out, lined out to right field, and grounded into his eleventh double play of the season.
Mauricio made a fielding error, his seventeenth error of the season.
Peroza had leave the game after he fouled a ball off his foot in his first at-bat of the day.

Ginn’s fastball sat in the low to mid-90s. He worked around a walk, a stolen base, and seven hits to allow only one run in five innings.
His groundball rate in 29.2 innings with Brooklyn is now 61.1% after it was 57.7% with St. Lucie.
Metoyer pitched the eighth inning and allowed the automatic runner to score. His groundball rate is now a ridiculous 68.6% and his strikeout rate is 34.2%.

Another dominant performance by Brooklyn’s pitching staff led to a Game 2 win and a doubleheader sweep.
Palmer led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a walk, stole second base, and came around to score on Jeremy Vasquez single.
Palmer is now 5-for-5 on stolen base attempts since being promoted to Brooklyn and 28-for-33 (84.8%) overall this season.
Mauricio drew another walk, raising his walk rate to 5.7%. He also played error-free defense at shortstop.

His strikeout rate is now 27.8% and his walk rate fell to 19.5%.

Schwartz hit his third double of his pro career on a fly ball to left field. His wRC+ is now 132 through his first 42 plate appearances.
Kendall’s single was a line drive to center field. His wRC+ is now 145.
