Syracuse (62-61) 7, Norfolk (51-71) 1 (F/7)   Box Score

The top five spots in the order went 8-for-15 as the Mets put up three-spots in the third and fifth innings. Herrera extended his hitting streak to eight games, five of which have been multi-hit games.

Gonzalez has allowed three runs or less in his last six starts. A demotion to Double-A has helped Hanhold, who has quietly been pitching well as of late. It still wound’t be impossible to see him back in a Met uniform at some point.

Syracuse (63-61) 4, Norfolk (51-72) 2 (F/7)   Box Score

Syracuse rallied in the first inning, when they scored all four of their runs thanks to four doubles. Taijeron’s .902 OPS is the best on the team.

Flexen has started in his last two appearances, pitching three innings and four innings respectively despite his transition to a relief role. 12 of Zamora’s last 13 outings have been scoreless, as he gets his season back on track after a rough spell. Nogosek held his impressive 0.00 Syracuse ERA, as he has now not allowed an earned run in 25 innings over 18 games.

Hartford (64-58) 2, Binghamton (60-63) 1   Box Score

Gimenez broke an 0-f0r-14 stretch with a two-hit game. He has still hit just .130/.226/.152 in August in an inconsistent season. The Rumble Ponies scored their lone run on an RBI single by Michael Paez in the bottom of the ninth, but their comeback attempt fell short.

Jannis had arguably his best outing of the season, striking out a season-high 12 batters. In his last two starts combined, he has struck out 22 in 13 innings while allowing only one earned run. He has been successful overall in Binghamton, with a 3.49 ERA, but has struggled to a 22.95 ERA in two starts for Syracuse.

Torres has been hit around in Binghamton as he returns from injury, although he has given up only one earned run in six innings for the Rumble Ponies since recording four successful appearances in the GCL.

Charlotte (76-48) 8, St. Lucie (67-56) 1   Box Score

The Mets only got five hits as the offense was mostly silent. Lagrange collected one of those hits as he has thrived in his first 25 games since being promoted to St. Lucie. Bohanek had the biggest hit for them, hitting a solo homer in the fifth for the Mets’ only run of the game. Notably, catcher Nick Meyer stole three bases, and now has 12 on the season.

Although Megill had a decent outing, his recent run of high-strikeout performances came to an end as he did not strike out a single batter in his five innings of work. McIlraith bounced back nicely from his first “poor” outing of the season for St. Lucie, when he gave up three runs in 2.2 innings.

Rome (57-67) 4, Columbia (49-72) 0   Box Score

The Fireflies only recorded four hits, with Medina collecting the only extra base hit. Mauricio has gone into slump after a hot stretch, as he is now 0-for-hist-last-23.

  • RHP Daison Acosta (L, 1-3, 2.70 ERA): 6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
  • RHP Jose Moreno (3-4, 2.52 ERA): 2.0 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
  • RHP Willy Taveras (5-11, 5.32 ERA): 1.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 BB, K

Acosta completed his second straight start with allowing a run, and has only allowed one run in his last three starts. Moreno has also been on a roll, having now fired 11.2 innings without having allowed an earned run.

Brooklyn’s game was suspended in the 6th inning due to fog, and will resume tomorrow.   Box Score

Kingsport (28-29) 9, Pulaski (37-19) 8   Box Score

It was a wild game in Pulaski, with the Mets coming from behind thanks to a three-run homer by Anthony Dirocie in the 9th that gave them a 9-7 lead. Jaylen Palmer also hit a three-run homer, while Cole Kleszcz recorded three hits. Top catching prospect Alvarez has collected a hit in five straight games.

After eight strong innings in the DSL, where he struck out eight and walked none in eight innings, it’s been a struggle for Garcia in Kingsport. Rodriguez has also been struggling, mainly due to a high walk total despite striking out 31 in 24 innings.

GCL Mets (23-22) 7, GCL Nationals (21-21) 4   Box Score

Facing the rehabbing Jeremy Hellickson for the first three innings, the Mets were helped out by four Nationals errors. Rodriguez broke a 1-for-14 stretch with a productive game.

Wolf made his fourth professional appearance, his third of which has been scoreless. Through his first six innings, he has an impressive 8-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

DSL Mets1 (31-28) 4, DSL Twins (21-38) 0   Box Score

  • Bradley Encarnacion 2B: 1-3, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, .206/.377/.252

The Mets somehow won despite being outhit 10-3, as they didn’t score any runs until a four-spot in the top of the 10th. Encarnacion’s two-run double was the big hit in the 10th that fueled the extra-innings victory.

Hernandez had his best start since moving to the rotation, going a personal-best six innings and issuing no walks, which has been an area of weakness for the righty.

DSL Mets2 (31-35) 3, DSL Rangers2 (29-37) 2   Box Score

Linares extended his hitting streak to 10 games, including three consecutive multi-hit games.

Marcano had his best outing of the year so far, going a season-high six innings and allowing only one hit. Walks have been a problem for the right-hander, but he was able to limit the Rangers to just one walk in his performance Saturday.
