AAA Rochester Red Wings 3 (42-54), Syracuse Mets 2 (38-59) Box Score

The Mets lost a close one as the Red Wings scored the game winning run in the top of the ninth. Guilorme was back in action Thursday in his first rehab game where he played shortstop and batted lead off.  Guillorme collected a hit and was later taken out of the game. Jose Martinez, who is also on a rehab stint of his own, came out of the game after a swing. From the looks of it he buckled his left shoulder and may need his rehab extended.

  • LHP Josh Walker 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, K, 4.89 ERA

Walker pitched very well as he threw to contact allowing only one walk and two runs over six. Walker made arguably one mistake and was taken over the fence for a two-run home run with two outs in the fifth inning. The bullpen was good as they combined for three innings and only one run in the top of the ninth.

AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats 10 (46-48), Binghamton Rumble Ponies 3 (44-52) Box Score

The Rumble Ponies went down Thursday night, but Mangum and Vientos stayed hot.  Vientos, Baty, and Mangum combined to go 5-for-10 and provide most of the offense. Nobody on the planet is seeing the ball better than Mangum at the plate right now. Mangum has a slash line of .439/.478/.683 in the Month of August. Carlos Rincon hit a home run as he continues to impress ever since coming over from the Dodgers in the Billy McKinney trade.

Binghamton’s relievers pitched excellent Thursday night as they allowed two runs over 5.2 innings.  Cavallaro pitched well in his appearance as he threw two scoreless innings keeping his ERA in Binghamton at zero.

High-A Aberdeen IronBirds 12 (50-47), Brooklyn Cyclones 5 (37-60) Box Score

Mauricio stays hot as he picks up another multi-hit game in the month of August. Cody Bohanek connected for his fifth home run of the season to make the score 3-1 Brooklyn after two. Alvarez picked up another hit as he drove in Mauricio in the fourth to make it 5-4 Cyclones. Jaylen Palmer picked up an extra base hit as well.

Syndergaard returned back to the mound for Brooklyn in his first rehab appearance since receiving the news of his setback. Noah allowed a home run to the first batter he faced and hit another batter, but settled down nicely and picked up a strikeout. Syndergaard sat around 95 mph on his fastball and was instructed by his doctor to only throw fastballs and changeups for the rest of 2021.

Low-A St. Lucie Mets 4 (51-45), Daytona Tortugas 3 (48-51) Box Score

The Mets picked up the win Thursday as St. Lucie took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the eighth and closed it out in the ninth. Kendall stays hot as the Mets 2021 seventh round pick picked up two hits and a his fourth stolen base of the season. Saunders picked up two hits as well as he continues to hit the ball well this season.

  • RHP Luis Moreno (W, 4-3) 3.2 IP, 2 H, R, ER, 3 BB, 2 K, 5.68 ERA

Nogosek continues to make his major league rehab assignment with St. Lucie as he threw one inning allowing a pair of hits and a run. St. Lucie threw a total of four pitchers and Moreno picked up the win throwing 3.2 innings of two hit ball. Drake Nightengale came in the ninth to close it out after the run allowed by Moreno and St. Lucie picked up the win.
