The Mets stay hot and pick up their seventh straight win as they sweep the double-header against the Bison on Thursday. There was only seven hits amongst the two teams in game two as both pitchers threw very well, but it was the Mets coming up with the big hits when they needed them the most. Williams started in right field and picked up a pair of doubles, and newest Met, Josh Reddick came through with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to give the Mets the lead.

  • RHP Zack Godley (W, 5-4) 6 IP, 3 H, R, ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 3.88 ERA

Bradley Roney came in to pick up the save in the seventh and looked awesome fanning all three of the batters he faced.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (41-49) vs. Portland Sea Dogs (54-36): PPD, doubleheader on August 21

Hudson Valley Renegades 7 (58-35), Brooklyn Cyclones 6 (35-56) Box Score

Brooklyn lost Thursday night on a walk off two-run home run. Palmer hit an RBI triple and the next batter Mauricio hit an eye level fastball out of the park to put the Cyclones up 3-2. Mauricio also made a spectacular play in the field as he threw out a runner on a softly hit ball to shortstop that he barehanded and threw across the diamond for a top ten play. Peroza has hit a homer in back-to-back nights as he crushed a ball to center field.

St. Lucie Mets 8 (49-41), Tampa Tarpons 7 (61-29) Box Score

St. Lucie picked up the win Thursday night as the newly drafted Mets, Jordan and Schwartz came through big time. Schwartz, the Mets fourth round pick in this years draft picked up two hits and an RBI to continue his hot start to professional baseball. Schwartz stole third base with one out in the seventh inning and Thomas Wold grounded out scoring Schwartz which ended up being the winning run St. Lucie needed. Jordan continues to find his way on base early in his professional baseball career as he scored twice and reached base safely three times.

St. Lucie got a lot out of their bullpen today as McCall and Santos combined for 4 1/3 innings pitched and only one run allowed. Their bullpen kept them in this game as St. Lucie sparked a rally to take the lead. Santos came in to pitch two innings and close it out and did exactly that as the Mets picked up the victory on Thursday.
