The Tip-Off sports radio show will debut a new feature, ‘All About Binghamton Baseball’ on Friday’s show.  John Bernhardt, a regular contributor to MetsMerized and MetsMinors.net, and Randy VanKeuren host the Tip-Off hour at 9:00 a.m. every Friday morning on WIOX 91.3 F.M.

2014 marks the 100th year of professional baseball in Binghamton spanning from the Crickets to the Bingos to the Triplets and, of course, now the Binghamton B-Mets.

B-Met baseball updates are a regular feature of the Tip-Off hour.  Summer editions of Tip-Off also feature a ‘Remember the Name’ segment, a look back at one of the former professional baseball stars who earned acclaim playing in Binghamton and players inducted into the Binghamton Baseball Shrine, with wall plaques located in the hallway outside the Binghamton Met Offices as you enter the main gate of NYSEG Stadium.

‘All About Binghamton Baseball’ will take listeners behind the backstop at NYSEG to meet the people who play varying roles in bringing professional baseball to Binghamton. Through August, the second half of each Tip-Off hour will feature someone from the Binghamton baseball operation who will discuss their part in providing minor league baseball to the Triple Cities.

Friday’s ‘All About Binghamton Baseball’ debut with feature Steve Kraly, the official scorer at B-Met baseball games.  A former major league baseball pitcher, a one time minor league roommate of the legendary baseball great Mickey Mantle, and the official scorer at NYSEG Stadium in every season of Binghamton Met franchise history, Steve Kraly has a lifetime affiliation with baseball and should be a fascinating guest.

Each week Binghamton Met General Manager Jim Weed will be lining up a different person involved with Binghamton baseball as a featured Tip-Off guest to provide  listeners with unique insights of the inner working of a minor league baseball franchise.

Tune in to Tip-Off every Friday morning on WIOX, 91.3 F.M.  You can stream Tip-Off at www.wioxradio.org or tunein.com/radio/WIOX-913-s128515/.
