Mets top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard has been placed on the Triple-A disabled list with, “a mild flexor-pronator strain.” He is on the way to New York to be checked out by team doctors.

The 21-year old has pitched to a 5-2 record this season for the Las Vegas 51’s while holding a 4.02 ERA. He last pitched for Las Vegas last Wednesday.

Anthony DiComo, the Mets beat writer from MLB.com tweeted that, “Flexor-pronator strain was a precursor to Tommy John for guys like Strasburg, Josh Johnson.” He also noted that for the majority of players, this was not the case.

The Mets have portrayed the injury as “mild” and not overly concerning according to Adam Rubin from ESPN.
