Mets right-hander Noah Syndergaard made his first rehab appearance on Wednesday night since being shutdown with elbow inflammation in May. He also tested positive for COVID-19 in August that slowed down his return to the mound.

On Wednesday, Syndergaard was the starting pitcher for the Triple-A Syracuse Mets. He retired all three Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders he faced on eleven pitches, seven of which were strikes.

Thor got leadoff hitter Miguel Andujar to fly out before getting back-to-back groundouts from Oswald Peraza and Chris Gittens. His fastball topped out at 95 mph and his changeup 89.

The Mets scored two runs in three innings of Yankees’ rehabbing starter Jameson Taillon. The game was suspended in the fourth inning because of a power outage with the Mets losing 4-2.

Right-handers Robert Gsellman (1.2 IP, 1 ER, 2 K) and Jordan Yamamoto (1 IP, 3 ER) also appeared for the Mets as they both continue their rehab assignments.

Syndergaard may get one more rehab outing before he rejoins the major league roster.
