Angel Calero is a former minor league pitcher in the New York Mets organization. Calero was signed by the Mets as an international free agent in 2004. He made his US debut the next season with the Gulf Coast Mets. Calero would pitch for six seasons in the Mets organization, reaching Advanced-A St Lucie before his release in 2011.
Calero owned a 3.86 career ERA in 407.2 minor league innings. His best year was in 2007, where he posted a 7-1 record with a 2.56 ERA across two levels — Kingsport and Savannah. Calero now pitches for Novara United in the Italian League.
