Congratulation to St. Lucie starter Gabriel Ynoa, for being named MMN Pitcher of the Week for his performance during on May 19th.

Ynoa turned in easily his best start of the season as he tossed seven innings, allowing two earned runs on seven hits. He walked one and struck out five but failed to earn the win.

This was Ynoa’s third solid start in a row and it looks like he is finally putting it together this season. In his last three starts, he’s given up four earned runs in 18 innings pitched with 14 strikeouts opposed to three walks.

He’s 3-2 on the season with a 4.85 ERA in 42.2 innings pitched.

Ynoa is another promising strike-thrower in the Mets system who doesn’t have the best pure stuff, but knows how to pitch and get hitters out.
