Mets minor league pitcher Jose Martinez has been suspended 60 games after testing positive for Stanozolol. The right-hander was 3-0 with two saves, 4.10 ERA, and 1.52 WHIP in 18 games between the DSL Mets and Gulf Coast League Mets during the 2015 season.
The 21-year old made his pro debut pitching the entire 2014 season for the DSL Mets going 3-3 with four saves with a 3.35 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and held opponents to a .217 average.
Jose was signed by the Mets as a 17-year old shortstop during the 2011 July 2nd International signing period.
He becomes the second Mets minor league pitcher to be suspended in the last week after Connor Buchmann tested positive for Stanozolol as well.
