Tidwell was drafted with the No. 52 overall pick in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft out of the University of Tennessee.

In Baseball America‘s midseason update, Tidwell was rated as the Mets seventh best prospect. He entered the season as MMN‘s seventh best overall prospect and the top pitching prospect.

He has a fastball, curveball, slider, and changeup. His fastball averages 94-96 mph and topped out at 98 mph in 2022 with the Florida State League.

Tidwell will join Double-A Binghamton in Reading, PA where the Rumble Ponies are playing the Reading Fighting Phils.
