Although the Arizona Fall League had Sunday off, the Dominican Winter League (LIDOM) season is now well underway, with a couple of Mets making appearances.
Two Mets position players appeared in Dominican Winter League games on Sunday:
- Ronny Mauricio SS: 2-for-4, R, 2B, RBI, SB, .273/.273/.364
Mauricio was a key contributor in Licey’s 6-4 victory on Sunday. In the sixth inning, he doubled with one out, then stole third base before finally coming home on a Pavin Smith double. Just one inning later, Mauricio would come through again, singling home Emilio Bonifacio.
One Mets pitcher appeared in a game on Sunday:
- RHP Michel Otañez (0-0, 0.00 ERA) 1.0 IP, BB, K
Otañez pitched a scoreless eighth inning to preserve Licey’s two-run lead. Always a bit wild, he did walk one batter in his inning of work, but was otherwise perfect.
