The Florida State League has announced the 2016 All-Star game roster with four players from the St. Lucie Mets making it including top prospects Amed Rosario and Wuilmer Becerra. They are joined by catcher Tomas Nido and lefty reliever Alberto Baldonado who is currently pitching for the Binghamton Mets.

Rosario, 20, is batting .298/.350/434 while being second in the league with 61 hits, second with six triples and tied for fifth with 29 runs batted in. It shouldn’t be long before we see the talented shortstop in Binghamton.

Becerra, 21, got off to blazing start as he was hovering around the .400 mark for a couple of weeks, he has since cooled but is still second in the league with his .338 average. He has eleven doubles and four stolen bases, but is yet to hit his first homer after hitting nine in 2015.

Nido, 22, has been solid on both sides of the ball this season and was named the MMN Defensive Player of the Month for May earlier today. Offensively he is having a career year with a .290/.324/.406 slash line with 13 doubles which is tied for third in the league.

The lefty Baldonado had a 0.93 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 19.1 innings for St. Lucie before being promoted to the B-Mets on May 24th.

The biggest possible St. Lucie snubs (players are always added later) are infielder Kevin Taylor (5th in average, second in slugging) and reliever Kevin McGowan who has struck out 30 batters compared to three walks to go along with a sparkling 0.96 ERA in 28 innings.
