Rookie – Gulf Coast League Mets
- Garrison Bryant RHP (17 years old) Bryant is the third youngest player in the Gulf Coast League. He has made one appearance pitching one inning allowing three hits, one run, one earned, and no walks with no strikeouts.
I say we keep all these guys , try CHEECH in the OF and at 3rd to make him a utility bench guy & give Flores 3rd next year . Get the pick from Walker , hopefully Ces opts in for one more year , sign Reyes move him to 2b have Herrera , Smith , Cheech , Nimmo and Rosario on the same team for next year so they get familiar with each other & then bring them all up in 2018
Its looking more and more like the mets will NOT offer the comp pick to walker and that sucks. I’d say go with Cheech at 2nd next season. His ability to put the bat on the ball is something this lineup sorely needs. Rosario and Smith will take the helm in 2018
At this point I think it will be pretty tough to offer Walker a QO. I agree that Mets should definitely be looking at Cecchini at other positions and think that’s more of a possibility after the deadline.
Garrison Bryant signed? I didn’t hear anything about that and had just kind of given up on signing the HS kids in the late rounds. Rare to see them sign, especially since it doesn’t seem like the Mets went overslot.
