The Scottsdale Scorpions dropped their second straight game with last night’s loss coming in excruciating fashion to the Mesa Solar Sox. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth and Mets prospect David Roseboom on the mound, Scorpions third baseman Miguel Andujar committed an error that allowed the winning run to score.
Roseboom struggled in the inning with three walks and an error of his own. He did strike out two and was set to pitch out of the jam if not for the costly error. Roseboom has yet to allow an earned run and only one hit in four innings of Arizona Fall League action but has walked six compared to five strikeouts.
Mets speedster Champ Stuart got the start in center field and went 1 for 3 in the game. He also put down a sacrifice bunt to move the go-ahead run to second base in the top of the 9th. He’s hitting .250 (4 for 16) with a home run, two stolen bases and four strikeouts.
Matt Oberste‘s solid season for the Binghamton Mets has yet to carry over into AFL action as he remains hitless after an 0 for 4 game. He is now 0 for 15 without a walk.
The Scorpions are back at it today at 3:35 PM ET with Mets prospect Corey Oswalt getting the start.

……Champ……….
Raise your hand if you’d be happy with a guy of 80 grade speed even just hitting .250 and having his speed take it from there (my hand is raised).
And anything that involves him bunting makes me happy.
If the .250 average came with a 12% walk rate I would be happy
