Minor League Baseball saw a rise in revenue with regard to licensed merchandise in 2012. According to Ballpark Digest, MiLB reached $54 million in sales, which is the third-highest total ever. The 3.3% increase from 2011 sales only trails 1994 ($60 million) and 2008 ($54.7 million) for their highest number in history.

The end of the article states there were five teams to make the MiLB top 25 list, and among the newbies, the Savannah Sand Gnats cracked the list. However, we’re unsure of where they rank specifically because the report listed the teams in alphabetical order.

While the Sand Gnats didn’t qualify for the playoffs last season, they were competitive with a third-place finish and 69-67 record to finish 2012. There were over 117,000 fans that visited Historic Grayson Stadium to watch the Gnats play. Fans had the opportunity to see exciting players, such as Michael Fulmer, T.J. Chism, and Dustin Lawley. Plus, just look at that logo; people must love to wear that!
