The Appalachian League announced its 2018 All-Star Team and two Kingsport Mets made the cut.

Second baseman Luis Santana has been one of the main clogs in a dominant Kingsport offense. The 19-year-old was listed as one of Baseball America‘s breakout candidates earlier this year and he’s certainly lived up to that hype as he’s recorded career-highs in AVG, OBP, OPS, and doubles.

The undersized infielder is considered to be one of the most promising second basemen in the Mets system and is slashing .348/.446/.471 with 13 doubles, four homers, 35 RBI, eight stolen bases and 27 walks compared to only 23 strikeouts.

Outfielder Guillermo Granadillo was also named to the team. The 21-year-old has been one of the most consistent players in the Kingsport lineup as, so far, he’s hit to a .333/.415/.368 clip with 23 RBI and 63 total bases. Despite showing almost no pop, he’s shown a penchant to get on-base. He also has a league leading 20 stolen bases.

Kingsport infielders Mark Vientos (3B) and Shervyen Newton (SS) are having strong seasons though two of the best players in the league have been Nolan Gorman (3B) and Wander Franco (SS).
