The rubber- game of the series between the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Charleston RiverDogs was played in front of 942 fans Sunday afternoon at Grayson Stadium.

Charleston pitchers limited Savannah to four hits for the game and won 5-0 to win two out of three games.
In the 2nd inning, Charleston sent nine batters to the plate, and scored four runs on five hits. Leading off the inning Mike Ford hit a home run over the right field fence, his 10th of the year. Miguel Andujar walked and moved tho third on a Michael O’Neill doubled. A sac fly by catcher Eduardo DeOleo scored Andujar and a single by Brandon Thomas plated O’Neill.  Mark Payton singled to score Thomas with the fourth run in the inning..
Charleston scored a run in the 4th inning when Eduardo de Oleo singled and stole second and then scored when Payton doubled.
Sand Gnat second baseman, Jonathan Johnson was 1-for 1 with two walks.

Note: When Savannah starter, John Gant, left the game I talked to his father in the stands who said,”John  suffered from heat exhaustion and did not drink enough fluids.”
