The Asheville Tourists came to Savannah to play a 3-game series on Monday leading the Gnats by four games in the standings.

With the score tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the 10th inning, Savannah scored a run to win the game and cut Ashveille’s lead to three games.

Asheville got off to a quick start scoring two runs in the first inning. Lead off hitter Raimel Tapia, singled followed by a home run over the left field fence by second baseman Zach Osborne, his 2nd of the season.

Savannah scored a run in the 2nd inning when Jorge Rivero singled, and on the next play, went to third on a fielding error by the first baseman and scored on a single by catcher, Colton Plaia.

In the 3rd inning Savannah tied the score at 2-2 on a solo home run by Yeixon Ruiz over the left field fence, his 4th of the season.

Asheville took a 3-2 lead in the 7th inning when Dillon Thomas tripled and scored on a sac fly.

Savannah tied the score in the 9th inning on an RBI single by Victor Cruzado.

Leading off the 10th inning for the Sand Gnats, Ruiz triples to right-center field, and scores the winning run on a sac fly by Champ Stuart.
